Fit all text in caption to just one line

In Pages,I tried to extend the caption box to make it just one line (instead of two lines as shown below) to no avail. It seems the width of the caption is dictated by the width of the Figure. How can I make a caption box that fits all the text in one line. Thanks

Pages automatically chooses the width of the caption box based on the size of the image's bounding box. There is no user override of this automation when using the Pages caption feature.

You could do it the old-fashioned way and not choose a Caption, but rather place an appropriately sized text box beneath the image, enter your caption, and then group the image and text box to simulate a caption.
