Apple feature request for email

I use gmail on my Mac and iPhone using the normal Apple email apps.

Apple, please add a button to your email apps that will move all unread emails out of the inbox and into a temporary archive box on the server. The unread emails should then be automatically deleted from that archive box 30 days (re-configurable in settings).

While none of us can change how Mail or macOS works, they pretty much offer enough functionality to let you achieve this without system modifications.

Make a Smart Mailbox defined by the criteria you describe. You can easily move all the messages there to wherever you want. It is not hard to do this manually but you can also add a little Shortcut and assign a keyboard shortcut to it - so there is your button.

And you can easily make a Rule to delete messages on a designated box and over a certain age.
