MacBook Pro 14 vs 16 M2

Hello everyone,

Last week, I purchased a MacBook Pro 14 M2. I was told ahead of time, by someone on Forumania that it was easy to read because of the display settings allow you to adjust the resolution to your preferences. I did just that. I set it up at 1147 x 745. That resolution creates issues on a lot of websites.

On my Lenovo, I set it up at 150% for a similar resolution and it worked without a hitch. So, I'm a bit disappointed. That computer is so great otherwise. I would never have bought that [first| Apple computer if I had known about that issue. Well, I am within my return allowance, so I'm likely to return it at the store.

Despite of it all, if I set the MacBook Pro to 1352 x 878, I have much less issues... Some rare page truncation on the right hand-side on some site pages, which I can use the trackpad to scroll to the right a bit. But, it can be tough to read some tiny characters sometimes. So, should I try the 16" version and expect better result at that resolution?

Regards!

Why don't you try the highest resolution but configure your browser to present the content at 150% - you know you can configure each page to a different zoom level in the settings.

You can go directly to Safari Menu:

And then choose the Page Zoom level you need:

Easier and you can set the page level you need for each of your preferred web sites.

<< My Safari just won't give me the 16 px option which probably would be idea for me as well. >>

It's a little tricky to get selections other than the ones on the menu, but it is possible.

Click on the blue down-arrow in the text-size box to display the menu entries dropped-down.

don't choose any of the choices

press the 1 key, then the 6 key, then tab or enter or any other non-numeric key.

that should do it.

I can't even read Apple discussion at the default font size.

Okay, good to know. Once you set one up as Settings For Discussion.Apple.com, does it remember it in the Websites column for the next time around?

What other MacOS apps can I actually do similar? I know, I was able to achieve such in Mail.

Coming back to Safari, if I use your suggestion, it does truncate the content to the right. Wouldn't a 16" display be better?
