iPad (10 Gen) and Apple Pencil 1 requires cord and connector to connect making ease of use maddening

Through out the day, my new Apple Pencil does not stay paired with iPad (10 gen) which means if I desire to use my Pencil I must carry cord and connector. Have you found a way to help me stay connected?

The first generation Apple Pencil can only be paired and charged using a direct connection. For the iPad10, with a USB-C port, this can only be accomplished using the USB-C charging cable the special USB-C to Lighting Adapter.

Your Pencil should stay paired with the iPad - unless the iPad is fully shut-down (which in most circumstances is totally unnecessary), or if the Bluetooth connection is intentionally disabled.
