Significant locations shows a place I've never been, and ONLY that place

I have only ever had Significant Locations turned on on my MacBook and my iPad, neither of which leaves the house very often. Last week, my Contacts (in the form of "Siri," which I do not use) suggested a new location, an intersection I've never been to about a mile from my house, based on my Significant Locations. When I went into Significant Locations and opened up my "Details," I saw this place on the map, confirmed that I had never been there or even anywhere near there (there are no places I travel to from home that take me through this part of town), and saw that it had recorded me as having been there between 11:45 PM on the night of February 24 until 6:30 AM the following morning. I am quite sure I stayed in that night, and anyway, that was six weeks ago and there was nothing more recent in my Significant Locations.

Can anyone explain this? It's baffling and a bit concerning, because it makes me wonder whether I have been spoofed somehow.

Hello quillh,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

There are various factors that could have caused this location to show. These are mostly related to the type of network you're using and where the traffic on that network is being routed.

For example, if you're connected to cellular data, your location may be slightly off as it's using an approximation for your location relative to your nearest cell tower.

If you see a significant location on your device that you want to remove, you can use these steps to do that: Delete significant locations on iPad

Hope this helps!
