I have a few songs that don't have album artwork. I downloaded the artwork, and when I tried adding it or dropping the artwork on itunes it doesn't accept it. I tried downloading the artwork in jpg, jpeg, and png.
Old artwork that I downloaded previous years will work, but the new artwork wont any hints? I haven't added album artwork in two years, so I do not know if anything changed in the last two years.

See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows - Apple Community. You cannot add artwork to tracks that are in the cloud, in .wav format, or while using AirPlay.
