Drive Scratches CD/DVD

I've had my Macbook Pro for not even 3 months and I am having issues with the slot loading drive scratching my cds/dvds. Even when I watch a movie, I barely even move my laptop and I hear the sound everyone wishes they didn't hear. Is there anything I can do to stop this. I mean honestly, the last laptop I had never did anything like this. Thank you.

Macbook Pro - 15", Mac OS X (10.6.4), 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

*DON'T move your MBP when a disc is spinning in the optical drive.* At the high spin rates that discs reach while playing, they acquire a lot of gyroscopic inertia that tries to keep them spinning in exactly the same plane when the machine shifts, causing them to scrape against the inside of the drive casing or other parts above or below the spinning disc.

If your discs are being scratched even when the machine isn't moved at all, then you have a hardware problem that needs repair.

You've done both of what things?

The many posts in that thread you've linked are complaining about several different problems in several different Mac models, most of which aren't MBPs. If your disks touch the metal case of your MBP when you're inserting them, there's a problem that needs repair, and it will be covered under your warranty if you report it within a year of your purchase. Go get it taken care of. Grousing here will do you no good at all.
