ios 16.4.1 mail problems

Since updating to iOS 16.4.1 on my iPhone 12, when I deleted messages on my phone, they apparently do not get deleted from the server, because when I go to either my desktop mac or my macbook, the messages are still there and have to be deleted on EACH device.


On my wife's iPhone 8, she never receives the messages on her phone, but they do show up on the desktop and macbook.

You’re right … since you’re referring to Apple’s email, you should not need to remove and reinstall the account.


I seem to recall there were some Apple infrastructure (e.g., App Store) issues a few days ago. Perhaps that explains the issue.


For what it’s worth, I’ve not had any issues with iCloud email on any of my devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac).

Does “messages” mean email messages? Are they also associated with her own iCloud.com address? The iPhone 8 was released by Apple in 2017. Has she failed to receive email messages on her iPhone for those 5½ years?

Same problem here, I spent a couple of hours on Apple chat support yesterday to no avail. My email is gmail. I have updated all the software but it seems now that any email that I have resolved if my laptop and iPad are not online doesn't get relayed back to those devices. So I have to manually resolve. Weirdly my iPad and MacBook are synching with each other, its just my iphone not synching with either of them, unless one of the other 2 is online. Now that I've seen this comment, I'm pretty sure its a software error. Hopefully an update with a fix coming soon...

Have been unable to receive mail from my imap.one.com account from around the time of 16.4.1 upgrade on my iPhone 8. Sending is OK and have been unable to fix this after firstly re-entering all account details and then deleting and re-establishing the account.

Webmail for this account and Outlook on my Windows PC work as expected.


No issues with my bigpond.com mail account on any device.


Any help or suggestions would be most welcome please.
