If you bought it from Apple or an Apple Authorized reseller return it to Apple and it will be replaced. If you bought it anywhere else and see that message it is not brand new. Return it to where you bought it, the place that lied when they said it was brand new.

I don't think when it was purchased would affect whether or Apple would service it. I take it that the OP bought it new when it was available.

This is the sort of thing that Apple can fix just by verifying that the camera is original and then resetting the warning. I understand that it happens occasionally when the camera and logic board temporarily go out of sync. I'm pretty sure that as long as there's no hardware parts needed, Apple or an AASP can fix it. If an Apple Store is available, I believe they typically do it as a courtesy fix.

I agree. The implication is “I recently bought this iPhone and therefore it has never been repaired”. The repairs performed on the iPhone are the central issue.

I get what you're saying, but then again a camera warning message is the sort of thing that Apple Stores have reset even when out of warranty. The whole nag thing is annoying though with cameras and batteries when there's just a momentary glitch and then it won't go away without a proper reset from an official Apple source.

Not sure how the phone could be "brand new" if it is clear that repairs were made on the phone before you purchased it.

The only way that the message will go away is if the correct part is installed on the phone. We will repeat.....the only way that the message will go away is if the correct part is installed on the phone.

The OP mentions buying it brand new, but not that it is brand new. I bought my iPhone 7 brand new in 2017, but I certainly wouldn't consider it brand new now. I believe the rationale for mentioning that was to hint that the OP knows the full provenance - that the camera is the original.

There have been plenty of reports of this warning coming up with completely original iPhones. I'm sure that an authorized tech can verify that it's all original and have reset the system to remove the warning.
