The M1 chip is a computer specific SOC (System on Chip), so because of that you can't install it into a computer that does not already have it. It is also important to note that the M1 chip is not sold by its self, but instead is included in most modern Macs.


So sadly, it would not be possible to upgrade your current MacBook Pro to M1. Apple does sell MacBook Pros that are already based M1 & M2 chips, which would be your only option.
