Tried to start my 3 month free trial but only getting one week?

The offer itself is tied to the hardware purchase, however it will not apply if this or similar offer had previously been used, had previously subscribed or if one is part of a family sharing group where an offer had been claimed. The standard trial is for 7 days, however for previous subscribers it will start billing instead.

If you feel there was an error then contact Apple before starting any subscription so they can clarify and give an activation code if necessary.

What recent purchase of a product or service would make you eligible for an extended free trial? Did you redeem as described for that special offer? It isn’t automatic. There is an offer from Apple, and other offers from partnering companies, which would have their own terms and conditions, and their own redeem procedure.

I bought a new Apple iPad last week. IT came with a three month free Apple TV offer. When I clicked on the icon and filled out the credit card info for the three month trial period, I was given a message that I could only have one week. Then, on the next screen, it said I couldn't have even a week, but had to start a paying subscription right now. What gives?

I'm having the same issue, and support had me go through the same steps. Now we are "escalating it" to senior management.
