want to sync old games from ios 12.4 which has appstore to my old 2nd generation ipad. THe games are on the store, just can't get them to sync/download

It may well be the case that the current versions of these apps are no longer compatible with the older version of iOS running on your iPad 2. You should use the app store on that device to see your purchase history, where you should be able to download any compatible versions that are available.
