headphones

my ipad is saying that i have headphones connected when i do not. i have turned off bluetooth, so it can’t be my, or anyone else’s, airpods. i’ve cleaned out both lighting ports, i’ve turned my ipad on and off and i have put it in rice overnight, i don’t know what else to do. please help

Both lightning ports? An iPad will have only one Lightning port - or more recents models, a USB-C port.


As you are placing your iPad in rice - this might suggest that you have exposed your iPad to moisture, or it has become wet. Water and electronics do not make happy bedfellows. Your iPad is not designed to be water resistant. While it may survive being splashed with water if immediately dried, it will almost certainly suffer irreparable damage if submerged or allowed to get wet.


You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad:
