iPhone dims in sunlight

iPhone 13 pro max. Dims in sunlight. Auto brightness and true tone are turned off but still dims. I had fixed this issue before downloading 16.4 but now it’s doing it again and I can’t make it stop.

Yeah the screen auto dims when it gets hot to protect the screen and the phone itself I’ve always just thrown the top half of my phone in relatively cold water not too cold though where it will damage due to retracting and expanding materials under water and it’s always sorted the issue out and cause I only do the top half i can still charge it

It is not good idea to thrown your iPhone into the water. Firstly the water resistance is not covered by Apple Limited Warranty/Apple Care+. Secondly, especially during temperatures changing, the case and parts of your iPhone can very lightly come thicker and thiner(thicker when warm and thiner when cold) which will also harm on water resistance power.

In that situation, just close the “heavy” app and it will be better to lock your iPhone and wait 5-10 minutes(plug out the charger if it was on charge). This is the safest way to do it.
