Hi!

There are a few things you can try to solve the problem of your iPhone’s front camera taking blue, black and grainy photos. One of the things you can do is wipe the camera with a soft microfiber cloth and remove any accessories that might interfere with the camera. Also, you could try restarting your iPhone and check if the problem persists. To do so:

iPhone 8 and following:

Press and release the Volume Up button quickly

Quickly press and release the Volume Down button

Long press the Side Button (power) until the Apple logo appears

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:

Press the Volume Down button and the Side (Power) button simultaneously with a long press until the Apple logo appears

iPhone 6s and following:

Long press the Side (power) button and the Home button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears

If the problem persists, you may want to try changing your camera settings. For example, you might turn off the automatic HDR option in the camera settings. Also, you might try to change the file format used by the camera to capture images on your iPhone. To do so:

1) Open the Settings app on your iPhone

2) Scroll to the "Camera" option

3) Select "Formats"

4) Choose the format you want to use. For example, the "More compatible (jpg)" format makes photos slightly larger in size, but they are less grainy than images captured using the high efficiency option.

If the problem still persists, it could be a bug in the iOS software. In this case, the only real solution would be to update iOS.

If the problem still persists, it may be a hardware issue and I recommend you contact Apple Support.

I hope I helped you!

Hi!^^

Im saying this so you don’t waste your time resetting your phone or whatever, but you really have to visit the Apple Store to get it fixed as it’s not a software update. For me, the repair was free and took around 3h but im not sure if it’ll be the same for others. Worth a try! They’ll tell you the price before they do the repair and im guessing it’ll be free or really cheap. Good luck! (picture of my camera before)
