I changed my Apple ID and I followed the instructions but I keep getting an error message from Apple using my old email and now that old email password doesn’t work and neither does the new one

Changed my Apple ID because of an email issue and followed instructions but I still see the red dot in settings. When I click it , it shows my old email??

Hey there PennyBrown,

We'd like to help by learning more about what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. You mentioned successfully changing your Apple ID due to an 'email issue', but what kind of issue were you having? While it may not pertain to what you're seeing in Settings, we wanted to know more about this just in case.
  2. Where exactly in Settings are you seeing this 'red dot', and is there anything next to it that explains what it's doing there?
  3. We see you're using iPadOS 15, but if you have a compatible iPad model, the latest version is iPadOS 16.4.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  4. Did you sign out of your old Apple ID information, then sign back in with the new info? What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support

Cheers!
