I personally use the free app HandBrake to rip DVDs and save them to my local drive. I then use another free app called Burn to burn the videos to a DVD that can be played on a stand alone DVD player.
but it DOES NOT work if trying to copy DRM protected DVDs like most commercially available DVD movies and the like. that would be illegal in most locations on earth.

Roxio Burning Software:
Roxia buried works just fine on my my for boring Blu-Ray: CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Burning & Disc Authoring for Mac - Roxio Toast
If you mean copy your home made movies then I use Roxio Toast. You cannot copy commercial movies legally.
It's very simple, just download a software.I personally use, there is a free trial version called. I think it's not bad, you can try it, hope it can help you!

If you're trying to copy protected movies, that's called "pirating" ... you know, stealing. I strongly discourage that. If you love the movie that much; buy it.
