An iPhone 6/6plus can't be updated beyond 12.5.7, it doesn't have the hardware needed to run anything higher.

If you need a higher iOS version, you will have to purchase a newer phone.

To update to 12.5.7 -

Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 12.5.7 is the latest iOS security update for iPhone 6.

Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Download and Install (if you haven't already done that).

iPhone 6 can’t be update to a higher iOS (13 and later).

Yes, most apps require iOS 13.4 or later.

Considering a newer type of iPhone?
