Grid lines

You used to be able to put a grid overlay on photos in iPhoto but now I can't figure out how you do it. If you click on it while editing a grid appears but only for a few seconds, I need it to stay for longer.

Any suggestions?

iPhoto edit not working correctly since the last iOS update. I use iPhoto edits for lots of cropping for desk top publishing I do on my Mac. Ever since the last iOS update to Sonoma 14.1.1 my cropping edit only allow simultaneous cropping all all 4 sides at one. The command to move either side independently seems to have vanished? How do I get that function back?

MacOS Photos App: Limited to a cropped square grid view? In the macOS Sequoia 15.4 Photos app, I only see the option to view photos in Albums as cropped square thumbnails, which hides much of the full image. I’d like to be able to choose a default grid view (original aspect ratio vs. the current squares) and also set the view for each Album individually—for example, viewing portrait albums as squares but landscape albums in their original format. Is there any way to do this, or are there workarounds or settings I’m missing? Thanks!

how do you stop slideshow from zooming in on every single photo? Using Apple Mac Book Pro, MacOS 15.5 I made a slide show of 4x3 portrait photos. When I run the slideshow it zooms in on every single photo, cutting off probably 30-40% of the photo. It will also randomly put two photos side by side. How to stop this please? Bit odd that Apple, with such a focus on presentation, would do this? Thanks,

In Photos for Mac the grid is only shown in Edit Mode, while you are using the Crop tool. Then the grid will appear, while you are holding down on the Trackpad or while you are resizing the photo. We cannot show it continually.
