Trying to rejoin group chat - says I am already in it

We understand you're unable to reply to a group iMessage, yet you can see the conversation.

Let's start by suggesting you restart your iPhone:

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

Then, test to see if the issue continues.

If the issue is still there, make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS. Before updating, we recommend backing up your iPhone first. These articles can be of help. When you back up, you can back up using a Mac or PC rather than iCloud if you choose.

I have this same issue. I have deleted the group. I restarted my phone. I had them add me back and we did that a few times.

Now… I have to type everyone’s name again like I was starting a new group. Then I can write to them. I’m my thread looks like a fresh thread. The other members of the group see it in the old group thread.

I feel like it has something to do with someone in the groups iPad being out of date. I have yet to find a solid answer.
