XProtect not updated?

I read about a recent update to XProtect and my Mac doesn't have it. I checked System Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Automatic updates and saw that "Install Security Responses and system files" was not checked. I did that, restarted my Mac and XProtect still hasn't updated.

When can I expect it to update on my Mac?

The XProtect updates are pushed to your Mac in the background and will not appear in the Software Update panel, even though you now have the Install Security Responses and system files option selected.

You can view the last updates in System Information via option-key +  menu > System Information… Once that panel is present, scroll down to Software > Installations and select that. Scroll to the end of that Installations panel and you will see the XProtect installation dates. Here is an example from Ventura 13.3.1:

If you're concerned about the internal system updates try the free app SilentKnight.

This animated screenshot shows somewhat it's capabilities:

It takes a bit to complete so be patience. After clicking on the Check button a second time this is what shows up:

The app is from the Electric Light Company site, some of the most knowledgeable Mac people on the internet, if not the most.
