Hello Nanaog,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that location isn’t showing as expected. We are happy to help.

We recommend ensuring that Maps has permission to use your location as shown here: Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"How to turn Location Services on or off for specific apps

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
  2. Make sure that Location Services is on.
  3. Scroll down to find the app.
  4. Tap the app and select an option:
    • Never: Prevents access to Location Services information.
    • Ask Next Time Or When I Share: This allows you to choose Always While Using App, Allow Once, or Don't Allow.
    • While Using the App: Allows access to Location Services only when the app or one of its features is visible on screen. If an app is set to While Using the App, you might see your status bar turn blue with a message that an app is actively using your location.
    • Always: Allows access to your location even when the app is in the background."

We also recommend trying the steps here: If Maps isn't working on your Apple device - Apple Support

"If you can't find your current location on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Turn on Location Services and Location Access for Maps. In the Settings app, tap Privacy, then tap Location Services. Make sure Location Services is on, and make sure Maps is set to While Using the App or Widgets.
  • Set the date, time, and time zone correctly on your device. In the Settings app, tap General, then tap Date & Time. If possible, turn on Set Automatically.
  • Turn on cellular data or Wi-Fi so that you have an active connection. In the Settings app, tap Wi-Fi or Cellular, then select a network or cellular plan.

Location Services uses GPS, Bluetooth, crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspots, and cellular towers to determine your location. If you still can't find your current location in Maps, close the Maps app and reopen it. You can also try to restart your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.

Learn more about Location Services on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."

Take care.
