Laptop fan runs even when sleeping ?

So I have a Mac Laptop 2020, Intel, and it often continues to run the fan all night even when I have put it to sleep and/or closed the lid on it. This is rather strange since it shouldn't be processing anything while asleep. Any ideas?

MacBook Air Fan Constantly Running I have an Intel MacBook Air (MacBookAir9,1) 2020 and once the fan starts, it doesn't stop until a system restart/shutdown. Regardless of how many or how less applications I run, once the fan starts, it stays on until the system is restarted. I can exit all applications, but the fan doesn't stop until the system is shut down or restarted. I should not have to keep shutting down the system just to stop the fan from staying on for hours. If a fan is running, then the Mac is not sleeping. If your Mac sleeps or wakes unexpectedly - Apple Support describes the applicable steps to follow.
