how to disable USB and USBC port connecting usb drive

someone need borrow macbook pro. I don't want them connecting USB drive to copy things. How to disable USB port.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Give them a newly-created non-admin login in a separate non-staff group.


Or enable and give them guest access.


They won’t be able to access anything protected.


There are USB-C locking connectors available too, if you can lock all but (if your model has it) MagSafe.


Better yet: back up a couple of times, reset the Mac, and leave them with a new install and nothing to copy.
