Mail is Stuck at the Host:

Protocols and Host:

Seems you need to get the correct Mail protocols (iMap4, POP3, and SMTP), IP Address (Static), Host information to set this up. So, contact Apple Support, or contact your eMail provider.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

Contact Apple support:

In contrast, contact Apple Support. Whatever mail server you’re using at Apple to access you mail, might the problem. There could be others experiencing the same issue.

Another Thought:

Use Another Computer and Account: You might want to try using another computer, seeing if you get the same error. See if someone you know has their own Apple ID and their own computer for you to try. It might be your computer; it might be the mail server; or it might be your Apple ID.

Contact Apple Support:

So, in all, contact Apple Support, seeing if it is a broken link. Report back what they say.

Not sure then, from that perspective.

Contact Apple Support ASAP:

I am getting the exact same problem, currently been on with apple support for over an hour and I still do not think they even understand what I am trying to do, even after sending the link to their documentation. I am adding 3 users and the verify link only works on one. The one that works is not an apple family member, the other two are.

Provide Apple with feedback on this, as I mentioned in my above reply.

I'm having the exact same problem: the verify button/link in the email you sent to to me does not accomplish anything when clicked on. The iCloud server does to seem to understand what it should be doing. I've tried multiple devices and they all don't do anything useful when that link is clicked on.

As someone who works in high tech, this is a broken feature. How do I create a bug report (I believe you call it X-ray)?

I have now resolved this.

Step 1, I removed the two family members from custom email sharing and then added back in. This did not send a further verify email, but seemed to automatically verify them. In fact there was no mention of verification this time.

After changing DNS this then allowed all to receive emails to the custom domain, but the family members could not send.

Step 2. I think this is the important bit, but is not actually mentioned in any apple documentation. I shared the iCloud+ subscription with family members.

Step 3. On family members I could then add the email addresses for the custom domain.
