lossless Apple Music & Sonos

Hi,

I have quite a lot of Sonos hardware and I’m also a subscriber to Apple Music. Can I use the native Apple Music app to play to my Sonos equipment using Airplay 2. I own a iPhone pro 14, IPad Pro M1 and Apple Watch ultra and will be using this hardware to control Apple Music with Sonos.

I know there’s an integrated Apple Music/Sonos app, but I find it clunky, buggy and slow.

AirPlay 2 protocol supports lossless music audio up to 24-bit/48kHz. However, when I play using the Apple Music app it sounds lossy, even I have selected Lossless within settings?

can someone clarify please?
