Excel error during opening on Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1: code signature not valid

I always receive the following error when opening Excel on Ventura 13.3.1 what didn't happen with previous version of Ventura. Any helpful hints welcome:

That’s a Microsoft app. Check for Office updates and test again,


Failing that, exit all Microsoft apps, and clear the Microsoft cache, and try again,


[Finder app, use Go to Folder in the menus to go to ~/library/caches, and delete the com.microsoft.Excel folder.]


Failing that, remove and re-install Office and test again,


Failing that, contact Microsoft support.


Failing that, load LibreOffice or the Apple Numbers app or some alternative spreadsheet app, and use that.
