I blocked someone by accident but it isn’t showing up on their contact as a blocked

So, you are going to Settings>Phone>Blocked Contacts as well as checking the contact? If they are not in either of those places, they have not been blocked on the phone. You may have blocked them through your carrier or some other third-party app (e.g. NoMoRoBo).
