Why is the time in the upper left-hand corner of my iPhone Pulsing green? And sometimes with a linked chain pulsing green?

Hi mwhawks,
The time being shaded in green usually means you're currently on a phone call. Additionally, If you see the symbol below, it means Personal Hotspot is in use and a device is connected:
"
Your iPhone is connected to the internet through the Personal Hotspot of another iOS device."
