MacBook trackpad and mouse problem

I have a 2008 unibody MacBook (13", so not a Pro). Since a few months its trackpad starts to behave erratically. When I am using it a for about 1.5 hour, the trackpad and my Logitech mouse only select. Point and click (left click) is not working anymore. I then have to do a reboot, after which it is working properly again. And as you may understand it is not easy to reboot, when you cannot you use left click...

Anyone any ideas? Should I do a clean reinstall, or is it a hardware problem? I first thought about a problem with the battery: expanding due to heat and pressing against the trackpad. This however, does not make sense as the mouse is behaving the same way.

This should be posted in the Macbook forum Marco.

Generally Logitech mice are unreliable on Macs. This could be part of the problem.

To check this switch the Logitech mouse off, restart & use only the trackpad. If you have no problem I recommend that you discard the mouse and perhaps buy an Apple mouse to replace it.

If there is still a problem check the condition of the internal battery using System Profiler and copy the details (except serial number) in a reply here.
