"Account Services Unavailable" error when adding the Apple Card to wallet

I just got approved for the Apple Card and when I went into the wallet to add it, it is under 'Previous Cards' (I'm not sure why it is categorized as a Previous Card).

Nevertheless, I select the card and hit 'Continue' and get the error message 'Account Services Unavailable - Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later'


I've restarted my phone, changed from Wifi to Mobile data etc. and I keep getting the same message.

Please log out of your Apple ID/iCloud account, force restart your iPhone, log back into your account. Then follow the steps in the support article for adding your Apple Card MasterCard to your Wallet app.
