Magsafe charger for 2023 MacbookPro

I have a 2015 Macbook Pro and recently bought a 2023 Macbook Pro, which came with a Magsafe -> USB-C cable and a USB-C -> AC power adapter.

The AC power adapter is similar but different than the AC power adapter on my 2015 Macbook. The 2015 Macbook power adapter had an actual cord that attached to the white "brick" and the cord ended in a 3 prong plug. The 2023 Macbook power adapter is just a white "brick" and the brick itself has a 3 prong plug built into it.

The problem is, the 2023 white "brick" is a space hog and at best it covers two sockets on a power strip and then only if it's attached to the end of the strip. This wasn't an issue with the 2015 adapter because, like every other computer power adapter on the planet, it had a cord to plug into the AC socket.

I am wondering if there are AC power adapters available for the 2023 Macbook Pro which have a cord /w 3 prong plug, or if there is some other way to charge the laptop without having the space problem I described?

Thanks much for any information anyone has on this.

You can remove the "duckhead" from the power adapter that cam with your 2023 MacBook Pro and replace it with the extension cable that you are using with your 2015 MacBook Pro. The 2015 originally came with the duckhead and the extension cable but Apple no longer ships the extension cable with new MacBook Pro models.

If you need to purchase another extension cable, see: Power Adapter Extension Cable - Apple

Slide the duckhead up to remove it and then slide the end of the extension cable down in the same place to attach it.
