Update requires a passcode. What passcode are they asking for?

Update requires a passcode and it’s apparently different from the 6 numbers of my sign-on. What passcode are they asking for.

the same passcode you use to unlock your device.

If it's asking for that it's usually for the Apple ID password.

I had the same issue 5 attempts later I finally figured out it’s your Apple ID.

Didn’t work. That was the six digit number I tried. I finally dug through my junk and found an Alfa/numeric code that worked
