How do I turn my iMac volume up?

I barely can hear the podcast,on my iMac. How do I turn it louder?

Sound on imac Ventura All the sound settings are at the max. I notice very often that the loudness varies when listening to spoken words. Some are hard to understanding at all. Then some are normal, even too loud and have to be turned down with F11 key.

Audio for iMac I have a refurbished 2019 iMac running Mac OS Catalina, and when on a zoom meeting, I cannot talk over people or interrupt if necessary. No one can hear me unless it is totally quiet. How do I fix this?

You can place a clickable sound icon in your menubar using the option in Settings or System Preferences > Sound:
