Folks - My Logitech C920e hasn’t been working well. Oddly enough it works well with google voice but making straight calls the FaceTime app (either FaceTime or direct phone calls), it sounds like I’m totally under the water. I do have the logitune software installed too and their tech support doesn't have a solution and says it's most likely an issue with the Mac given the voice quality is fine with google voice. When I put my AirPods on, voice quality is great

I have the same webcam and it's problematic with FaceTime and phone calls. People tell me they hear an echo or like you said it sounds like I am underwater. It seems like FaceTime doesn't provide noise reduction unless it's using the built-in Mac microphone / speakers. The microphone can pickup sound from your speakers causing echo. But it works fine with other software such as Google Meets, Zoom, Teams, etc.

Depending on the iPhone you may have, there are a variety of Continuity mounting products. Some use the MagSafe magnets on the back of most newer iPhones to attach a hanger bracket so you can hang the phone off the lid or external monitor securely.
I just end up using AirPods or a headset when using FaceTime on the Mac with the Logitech camera. Or I just use my iPhone / iPad instead.
