My phone and watch updated, now the no longer communicate even though it says they are. My apps are gone from my watch and I can’t even get a decent watch face. Can this be fixed?

Phone & watch updated after unpairing & pairing again. Now they don’t communicate despite saying they are. Watch apps are gone and I can’t download any of them. Can this be fixed or am I screwed?

I suggest scrolling down in this link to the section to erase your Apple Watch without an iPhone and follow the instructions to erase it. Then set up and pair the watch as if it were new. You can restore the watch with a backup of its content.
