I have an iPhone XR that is about 4 years old. Realizing updated versions are out there, this one was expensive but new ones are even more expensive. After the 16.4.1 update, my battery simply just started dying? Until then I could go about a day and a half. now lucky to get 8 hours out of it. Any ideas? I called apple support and was told the update was supposed to fix a bug???

Coincidence. The update might have created a 1-2% drop, but the phone was probably close to or already at 80% before you ran the update.
Make an appointment at the Apple Store or authorized Apple Service shop to get a new battery. It should go another 2-3 years.

What is the Battery Health / Maximum Capacity of your phone?
Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Maximum Capacity
The battery needs to be replaced when Max Capacity is down to 80%
An iPhone Xr in good condition is still a solid and capable device with a lot of life left in it.
If the battery health is indeed < 80%, a battery replacement is generally a quite cost-effective means of restoring performance.

Yep, it's at 78% but like I said just happened after the update! My guess is it was slowing and finally started taking a dip.
