The Trail Loop was specifically designed for the Apple Watch Ultra, which is for more sports oriented users. I've watched a number of YouTube videos where people did swim with the Trail Loop. But it is a fabric (nylon to be specific) watch band and I don't know how often it can get wet or whether it will suffer from repeat wet situations. I own Apple Watch Ultra and change my band often. Personally, I'd wear a different band for wet environments and I own the Trail Loop. I also own the Ocean Band, which to me is better suited to getting wet. The standard Sport Band is made of the same type of material the Ocean Band is made of, so it too would be a better wet use band.

According to:

About Apple Watch water resistance - Apple Support

"Not all Apple Watch bands are appropriate for water use. For example, the stainless steel and leather bands aren't water resistant and shouldn't be exposed to liquid."

"Classic Buckle, Leather Loop, Modern Buckle, Milanese, and Link Bracelet Bands aren't water resistant."

By om mission. from the above, I assume the trail band is water resistant. To get a definitive answer  contact Apple Support.
