Lost search engines

Safari when tapped “used” to have four search engines options underneath, Apple, Bing, Yahoo and Google. Since the last update mine have disappeared from my iPad and iPhone. Anyone know how to get them to show up? I used to be able to choose the search function I wanted, now I have to “type it into “ the search bar

Thank you for the reply debifromwyoming!

You can choose your search engine by follow the actions under the "Choose a search engine" section here:

Search for websites in Safari on iPhone

Choose a search engine
Go to Settings  > Safari > Search Engine.

That article also outlines other settings and features in Safari.

For Search Engine Suggestions, enable Search Engine Suggestions in Settings > Safari.

If there is a feature you would like to see in future updates, you can provide feedback here:

Hey there debifromwyoming,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

To get started, were the websites you mentioned listed under the Favorites section after tapping the URL bar in the Safari app? If so, let's ensure that your Favorites are enabled using the steps shown in this link here: Customize your Safari settings on iPad - Apple Support

Customize your start page
Every time you open a new tab, you begin on your start page. You can customize your start page with new background images and options.
1. To open a new tab, tap the New Tab button at the top-right corner of the screen.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page, then tap Edit.
3. Choose options for your start page.
* Favorites: Display shortcuts to your favorite bookmarked websites. See Add a webpage to your favorites.

Note: Your custom start page settings are updated on all your Apple devices where you have Use Start Page on All Devices turned on, and you’re signed in with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication.

If Favorites is already enabled but the incorrect websites are listed, you may need to reorganize your Favorites. Learn how to organize your Favorites using the steps in this next link here: Bookmark favorite websites in Safari on iPad - Apple Support

Edit your favorites
1. Tap the Show Sidebar button, then tap Bookmarks.
2. Tap Favorites, then tap Edit to delete, rename, or rearrange your favorites.

Let us know if that's able to help.

Have a great day!

This didn’t answer my original question about the four search engines that were displayed underneath my Safari search bar. They were Apple, Bing, Google and Yahoo. You could open Safari and see them directly under and “tap” whatever one you wanted to use. To go through all the hoopla isn’t necessary, unless this is the way to make sure you download all of them in order to use the one you want. Waste of time, much easier just to open Safari and tap
