12.6.3 (21G419) upgrade and battery drain

Hello, just upgraded my 2020 13" MacBook Pro to 12.6.3 (21G419) and now the battery drains very fast. I have seen mention that this happens. I see that there is a Upgrade to MacOS Venture 13.3.1 but don't know if this fixes this issue. Anyone have thoughts on this? I looked and did not see any other posts on this subject. If there are fixes or something please someone let me know. This is not good...since typing this battery is down to 50% in 15 minutes.

Thanks

Roy

Hello Roylt,

First of all, it's important to stay updated or upgraded to the latest supported version for your Mac. If you can upgrade to Ventura 13.3.1, then we'd recommend backing up and updating to this version to confirm the issue with your battery persists. There are also a few helpful resources we can share on the Mac's battery. See the below details for a solution:

  1. Backup the Mac and upgrade to Ventura for the latest fixes: Update macOS on Mac
  2. If needed, do some troubleshooting: Get help with your Mac laptop battery
  3. Check the battery condition: Check the condition of your Mac laptop’s battery

Should the issue persist or you determine that the Mac battery requires service, seek an inspection: Mac Repair & Service

Get prepared for your visit: Get your Mac ready for service

Select on service and search nearby for locations: Find Locations

Hoping to hear how it goes.

Take care.
