how to set up rule for reply to

I have set up a number of email rules to dump things immediately into trash. How can I set up a rule based on the Reply-To: line in an email? The senders are using their actual address in there while changing the senders line for every email.

Here’s the full scoop: I set up OOO auto-replies in Mac Mail when I travel. It seems like a no-brainer so I don’t have to reposed to everyone just to let know. However, in the past I had two nightmare scenarios; The first was my fault. There’s an insane option when setting the rules for the auto-reply in mac-mail that says something to the effect of “apply rule to mailbox.” It’s the pre-selected option so when I hit ENTER I thought I simply turned on the auto-reply. Well I did, plus it sent that auto-reply to every email I ever received—and at 3am. Yay! The second time, much more recently, a few friends reached out to let me know my auto-reply sent to random emails I sent them over a decade ago. I have no idea what happened and this second incident seemed to be limited and sporadic, however the uncertainty didn’t ease concern. The last time I travelled I didn’t set it up and it was annoying letting each person who emailed know I was away. Fast forward to now, I Google’d how to set it up again for a no-mistakes refresher on something I’ve done many times before. Now I’m seeing a common answer to the question “How do I create an out of office reply?” just as BobTheFisherman did with this reply to the question, "How do I create an out of office reply in Mail?" “It is not a good idea to create automated out of office replies in an email client. Automated replies let spammers/phishers know they reached a valid email account If the sender of an email to which you send an automated reply sets up an automated out of the office reply, you will get into a "race" condition. If you want to use an auto reply, check with your email provider to see if they offer that functionality at the server level.” -BobTheFisherman I’ve also had this bouncing issue with competing auto-replies, but only a handful of times. What gives? I still see auto-reply messages from others on a daily basis. What are they doing right that I can’t seem to?

Can I reply from "hide my email" address? I love Hide My Email, but I'm wondering if I can reply from this address somehow, so that the other party won't find my real address. Thank you.

Apple Mail rules are useless if you want let folks now you are out of office Why writing rules to Apple Mail to advise clients you are on vacation, if you go on vacation and obviously turn off your mac, which is lying peacefully at home... but rules won't run?

At the bottom of the Rule criteria list there is an Edit header list… command. Use that to add "Reply-To"

Hopefully you are not planning on replying to these spam emails. Replying will confirm to the spammers that they reached a valid working email address. The result will be much more soam from the sender and from every other spammer they share your valid email address with.

Absolutely not. Somehow I got hooked into a chain of garbage. I set up rules on both mail and on iCloud. But as you know when one stops they sell to another. I blocked these people but they are changing their email addresses and putting their original email address into the Reply-to . Hoping I can stop them in total.
