Block buttons in App

I remember being able to go to my Settings and choosing a function which would 'block out' a button or a section of an iOS App ... so that it would not activate or be able to be chosen in that App.

I could 'circle' the button or function ... and whatever was inside the circled area would be non-functional, namely the button would not activate, unless I used my passcode for doing that.

I don't remember how to do that and don't seem to be able to find it.

Does anyone know or remember how to do that?

Greetings Star Traveler,

We believe what you’re looking for is Guided Access. In the section, “Start a Guided Access session” from the following article - Use Guided Access with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Start a Guided Access session
1. Open the app that you want.
2. On an iPhone X or later, triple-click the side button. On an iPhone 8 or earler, triple-click the Home button.
3. If you want parts of your screen to stop responding to touch, use one finger to circle those areas. You can move or resize the circle, or tap the X to remove it.
4. Tap Guided Access, then tap Start.

Or to start a Guided Access session with Siri*, open the app that you want, then tell Siri "Turn on Guided Access."
*Siri features might vary by country or region.

Thanks.
