You can try, but it's generally assumed that Apple products like iPhones and cellular iPads will be restricted in where the warranty can be accessed. I've heard different stories, so there's no guarantee.

But in general, as long as there's a date of purchase registered with Apple, warranty service can be done without a receipt. However, I've purchased Apple products where it wasn't registered properly (including one Mac) or where the product type (cables or accessories) aren't specifically on the product and I would need a proof of purchase for warranty service.
