Formula on numbers to subtract a percentatge?

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to do this formula in numbers so that my “selling fees” column gets calculated automatically.

For example....

The columns I will be using are:

“Selling Price”

“Shipping Price”

“Selling Fees” (this is where I want the value of the formula to be shown)

The Fees I’m trying to calculate are:

10% is the fee taken from depop (so -10%)

And

minus 3.49% and then minus $0.49 which are the fees taken from PayPal after the transaction has passed through depop and the have taken their 10% cut.

So basically this is the math I want to use…

Selling Price + Shipping Price = X

and then  X - 10%  = Y

and then Y - 3.49% = Z

and then Z - $0.49 = My Total Selling Fees

How do I convert this math into a formula for numbers, to auto calculate, using these columns only:

“Selling Price”

“Shipping Price”

“Selling Fees”

As I don't want to have to make additional columns for X, Y, and Z

Hopefully that all makes sense, please just let me know if you need for me to clarify anything.

Thanks!

I calculate the fee to be = (sell+ship)*0.13141 + 0.49

0.1349 = 10% + 3.49% . This is not how the fees were described. The 10% was applied to the sell+ship amount then the 3.49% was applied to what was left.

I'm not so sure that your math is complete about the fees. Your "Z-$0.49" is the amount left from X after all the fees, not the fees themselves. The fees will be X minus that..

X = Sell + Ship

Y = X*(1-0.10) = (Sell+Ship)*(1-0.10)

Z = Y*(1-0.0349) = (Sell+Ship)*(1-0.10)*(1-0.0349)

Fees up to this point = (Sell+Ship) - (Sell+Ship)*(1-0.10)*(1-0.0349)

Fees including the $0.49 = (Sell+Ship) - (Sell+Ship)*(1-0.10)*(1-0.0349) + $0.49

To keep things simple, extra columns are usually used to calculate pieces of the puzzle rather than doing it all in one column. You can hide those columns if you don't want to see them but it might be interesting to see how much everyone is charging you.
