How much does Apple charge for replacement if not their battery, old iphone?

Online estimate of $69 but want to be sure that's for any battery not just their original battery.

Earlier iPhone models

Apple has never charged $150 to change an iPhone battery. That’s the cost of changing a MacBook battery. Several years ago it was $79; they lowered it to $49 for touch ID phones, and $69 for Face ID phones. Very recently they raised those prices by $20, to $69 and $89, respectively.

BUT, if you had the battery replaced already by a 3rd party installer, they may refuse to replace it, period.

Do you mean that you previously had an aftermarket battery installed? I'd give it a try. I've heard Apple both denying a battery replacement service or doing it even with an aftermarket battery replacement. I believe the main thing would be whether or not the previous service was done correctly. If aftermarket service damaged it, Apple won't likely touch it.

Hello ~ Depending on the model you have you may want to get a new iPhone but if not just have it replaced. If you decide to get an iPhone second hand please read these links so you can make an informed decision…

I have had very good experiences with secondhand, and sadly not good with Genius Bar. Their stock answer is "buy a new one". Why? They never have features I want, cost much more than necessary in my opinion, and withdrew support from my beloved 11inch MacBook around 3 years after I bought it (new). Nowadays repairs are a nightmare, they don't have knowledgeable "genuises" in-store. I need two phones (one for backup) more than I need the latest model. Same with laptops. These are necessities, like utilities, not "cool". When I bought my ipad, years ago, the questionnaire asked if the salesperson had shown me "one cool thing". Answer no, because I stopped him - I didn't care at all. More functionality would have been useful!
