Apple watch ultra, prevent the power saving when the wrist is down (not talking about low power mode)

Hi all

I often do some stretches which are timed e.g. 30 seconds (using the stop watch as it's continuous, not timer). However the screen goes into some power saving mode when the wrist is down (all over the watch this stuff happens e.g. the second hand disappears on the watch face after a few seconds, or the stop watch seconds go to sleep and any other intensive process). This is nothing to do with the power save mode. I've looked around the forums: wake for 70 seconds is set, it doesn't stay awake when the wrist is down? Utility watch face, second hand disappears on this too. No idea why various threads state these as resolutions. Can this be prevented? I don't care if uses more battery. I just want to have a stop watch which you can use as a stop watch whatever angle my wrist is at and whenever i look at it. Should be a setting for this, surely....any ideas appreciated.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, as I understand it, that is the normal mode of operation with the Always On option. Many nurses have made similar complaints about the second hand disappearing when trying to measure a patients heart beat rate. As this article:

Use the Always On feature with your Apple Watch - Apple Support

says

"To preserve battery life, the display dims when your wrist is down, or by a quick gesture of covering the display with your hand."

Hi,

I don’t have a fix but there’s something buggy with this setting.

With my new watch, the screen stayed on even on wrist down. But I actually saw a setting called Sleep on Wrist Down (not exact wording). I toggled this on to test it and then the setting disappeared entirely. Now, my watch just goes black on wrist down even in the middle of a call, etc.

Any notifications I get, calls included, do not wake the watch screen up either.

So I’m actually in the process of a rectifying this for the fourth time.
