YouTube icon in the menu bar on OS 13.2 (Ventura).

My previous Mac has Catalina installed on it. While I was not a fan of Catalina, I found it really intuitive. It was very similar to Snow Leopard in use and appearance. Catalina, on the other hand, is not intuitive at all. I have had to do many web searches on how to fix or change things that I can't figure out why they are there. Right now, I am watching a YouTube video and I noticed that there is an arrow in a circle up on the menu bar. When I click on that icon in the menu bar, it shows me the name of the video that I am watching. It looks like I can pause and play the video using the drop down menu that appears when I click on that icon. I'm watching the video and can control the play and pause right on the video player. I don't need to have this kind of icon on the menu bar.

I've tried searching for a solution and thought I might have found one; but, it did not work. I do not need these kinds of icons in the menu bar. How do I remove it or turn it off.

Are you able to not show it when you go to  > System Settings > Control Center > Now Playing. Change the setting to "Don't Show in Menubar".

Mac Jim,

My son bought me this computer and if I had realized how challenging it would be, I would have asked him to try to get one with Catalina on it. Your suggestion helped me take the button off the menu bar; but, I can't seem to take the Control Center button off of that same menu bar. It just does not need to be there.

I have used your suggestion to remove other items off the menu bar. So, thank you for that.
