If it is formatted for a Mac, Windows can't read it.

If you need to transfer between Mac and Windows, format it ExFAT. However, that will erase what is on it, so you would need to move it somewhere while you reformat the drive.

Windows can not read/write a drive formatted for Mac. What format is the drive?

The drive must be formatted exFat to be used by both MacOS and Windows.

I would use a cloud drive like iCloud, GoogleDrive or OneDrive if the amount of data being shared is not too large.

There is another option if the flash drive is formatted for Macs as either HFS+ or APFS. Paragon Software has programs that will let a Windows computer read Mac formatted drives.

I'm always a little hesitant to recommend use of an evaluation version of an app:

Well, you could always purchase it outright then it would not be an evaluation version. 😎

In any case, their software has worked for years.

Good point ; )
