International Warranty - Australia to Italy (Iphone and Macbook)

Hi

I am travelling to Australia, and I am thinking about buying an iPhone and a Macbook in Australia.

Will the warranty be active in Italy?

Thank you

Mattia

Warranties are international (Apple does not say anywhere that they are not), but note restrictions which may limit this:

For the iPhone there's the problem that iPhone models sold in once country may not be the same as ones sold in another country, therefor limiting the availability of parts:

Note this statement from the iPhone and iPad warranty:

"IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device."*

The above is from the USA version of this iPhone, iPad and iPod warranty document, but this particular section limiting international coverage is much the same for the warranty for all countries. If you wish to check the warranty for where you bought your device, click on this link to take you to the page about Apple warranties, then select your device and country --> Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple

In general you are okay with a Mac in terms of international servicing and warranty. Hardware Warranties --> Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple

then select your hardware and country.

One key point:

There is no such thing as an “international warranty”

Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple

Warranties are generally valid “where sold.”

That said, most Apple locations DO have considerable latitude to support international customers …

… but it’s case-by-case.

Plus the mobile frequency bands built into a device built for “Country A” might not exactly line-up with the bands available in “Country B” …

… with the possible resultant loss of some capability.

It’s always best to purchase a device intended for the country of primary residence / primary use.
