There are no indicators on the remote to show that it is charging. But you can read the charge level in Settings, while charging.

Charge the Siri Remote - Apple Support

Charge the Siri Remote to the USB port of a computer, or to a power adapter in an AC socket. Other USB ports may not always power this remote. Charge for 30 mins (minimum) or up to 3 hours (depleted to fully charged).

If your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote isn't working - Apple Support

  • Charge the remote,
  • try restarting just the remote, using the button combination,
  • or try pairing the remote again to the box, using the other button combination,
  • else: contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.
